ABOUT THE PROJECT

Rukobia is an HIV treatment that works differently from other treatments by stopping the virus from attaching to the T-cells. For this project, in partnership with Rukobia and Collective Lair, we wanted to capture the impact the medication has had on real lives. James’ story was one of many that were captured as part of this campaign, and the only one featured from Detroit. The project was shot in and around the Masonic Temple and focused on creating visually compelling moods and actions to complement his story.
